Happy's Supper Club Tee

Happy’s Supper Club was a cherished local establishment in Kewaunee, WI with roots in that location dating back to the early 20th century. It was part of a long lineage of taverns and restaurants at the site, which, in modern times would change hands to Uncorked and currently The Wildflower Supper Club.  But the “Happy” era started in the early 1960’s when the Walter family ran things with “Happy” running the tavern and the family living in the upstairs apartments.  Rumors persist that “Happy” was the nickname for the “grumpy old bastard” that owned and worked the bar until 1988 when the location switched ownership.  In the early 80’s there was a back room called “Captains Room” which was catered to the fishermen coming in for the day from Lake Michigan where they would enjoy fantastic Lobster specials on the weekends.  Aside from the fisherman, others would come from miles away and wait several hours while throwing back many old fashioned’s waiting for a table for these famous Lobster dinners. The former Happy’s was located at 306 Ellis St in Kewaunee.
